The Happy Side of the House (Anybody need Rhubarb?)
Thank you all for your kind words re: our fencing situation. Unfortunately though it's not that simple.
Next door when we put up a fence on the "happy side" of the house we discussed it with "Cheese Slice Bob" and came to an agreement that was acceptable to us both. We had the work done by a professional fencer and it was a "good neighbour fence" which was attractive on both sides.
The fencer who put up our fence has met her and refuses to have dealings with her. We just don't want to deal with her in relation to building and maintenance issues of which there would be many. You can't please everybody all the time and some you can't please at all. She's one of those. So I guess as Kurt suggested, I just can't look left.
So I continue to work on plan C (since I don't think my plan B, the bikini, worked) and not look left.

Plan D: Plant aggressively growing, thorny, spreading shrubbery along your property line. Wait a year. When your neighbor gets tired of pruning the mess spreading into her yard, she may put up the fence for you.
I'm not a devious person so I can't imagine where this idea came from, maybe from listening to Frank Sinestra on the stereo, I mean, my cool i-pod.
Plan D: I know a guy who knows a guy.
I'm bummed I missed the missing post.
i think the only problem with plan d above is that in some parts of canada you are required to care for plants you grow so evil neighbour wouldn't be the one trimming it :/
i suggest a hex :p
We don't see our neighbours....they only come out at 11pm to mow their lawn or cut tiles for the 1800 square foot patio that took them 4 months to build...we do see their smoke signals mid evening though when they are burning out their garden which is next to our cedar trees and the other neighbour's plastic fence.....good times.
The woman next door sounds impossible if even the fencing contractor doesn't want to deal with her. Hmmmmmmmmmmm....Kurt's Plan D does sound awfully tempting. ;)
