Teddy vs Horace

It's funny how sometimes the best art days are ones in which you don't actually make art at all!

My last post was a downer.  I was ready to kill "Teddy" (the monster that drives me artistically) and try to live a normal, non-artistic life.  He must know a few monsters and pulled a few strings which in turn fed my ego enough to coax me to continue creating for a while longer.  Who controls Teddy I'd like to know.  God I suppose.

What did it take to inflate my deflated ego?  Three unrelated things happend.  One of my paintings made somebody cry.....in a good way that is (at least I think they liked it.  They either said it was beautiful or beanful.  I'm not sure which, it was hard to read the handwriting), someone took my business card from a display over many others and I was chosen as the "Featured Artist of the Month" on the Figureworks website for February.  If you want to see it, don't go there now because it's not February yet!  This is a great thrill for me as it is a large group of very talented artists, many of whom are actually professional, full-time, artists!  This all should get me through to the end of the day when "Horace" my self doubt monster gets the upper hand again and knocks me back down to the place where I belong.

It was -32 celcius (-25.6F) this am and I tried the boiling water toss and it worked!  It even came with the oh so cool sound effects.  I think the boiling water toss should be a new winter olympic event.  It's more entertaining than most.
