It All Started With Christine.....

Dear Megan,

Thanks for asking after me.  I have been gone a while.  We bought a new vehicle.  Her name is Christine.  Yes, I did say Christine.  That's when the problems started.

Christine, although she doesn't appear to be malevolent, does like to get her own way.  We found out early on that when we're driving around she tends to keep readjusting the volume and base on the stereo just to let us know she's there.  She likes her rock hard and loud.  She likes the windows to vibrate with the base turned up and no matter how many times we readjust the blasted thing she returns the settings to her liking when she thinks we're not looking.

Oddly enough the same week we brought her home my cell phone and computer gave up the ghost.  I'd be lying if I said I missed them, but alas, replaced them just the same.

Mr. P, being in the business, spent the weekend recovering data from the old hard drive and transferring it to the new.  He just managed to get it set up and was putting it back together when the new drive crashed.  Back to square one.

I'm finally up and running again, for now anyways.  I try to remember to take Christine out for a drive twice a day, give her a healthy dose of hard rock at her desired volume and base, and give her a pat when I walk by and keep her new and shiny looking.  This seems to be placating her for the time being and the computer and cell phone seem to be working for now.

Seems the smarter technology seems to get the more trouble it causes us.  (shhh....don't tell her I said that.)

Thanks again for checking up on me.

Perp.

You're such a killjoy. I liked it better when you were drinking coffee.

Macs are for wimps.

What about the cell phone? BTW....I don't have you cell number or email address anymore.

Anonymous sure it helpful.

I used to fix my own car back in the olden days, but now that is not possible anymore without a giant car computer.

I rarely use the cell phone as no one calls me, and if I had someone to call, I'd call them on the regular phone.

Kurt, I leave my house and my phone cord isn't long enough for me to take it with me. I'd call you but I don't speak American.

Anonymous was Hot Chocolate and he's just jealous that my new vehicle looks so much better than his next to his new walkway;-)

Jennifer Rose, I do have a macabre side.
