Fridays Drawing Group

After a couple of two minute poses as people were changing their drawing tools and preparing for the one hour pose he disappeared.  When the head of the group went in search for him he opened the door to an adjoining room and found this model wrapping himself up in ropes, chains and locks.  A strange creature he was.  Once he returned he was so preoccupied with adjusting himself so that a certain appendage would poke through the lock that I got a case of the giggles.  It spread.

She has to be a minimum of 6' tall with hair almost as long as she is tall.  I found in this pose I couldn't see anything but her hair it was so beautifully spread across her back.  So that's what I drew.

These were all done with an indigo pastel.  I've not used pastels before, but it was nice for sketching.

.......then he disappeared, oiled himself up, put on a torn white shirt and geek glasses.  I left after drawing for a half hour out of the hour and a half alotted for this pose.  I had had enough.

Number 55 vs Kurt

This is a model from a book/cd called Virtual Pose 3.  His name is Pose Number 55.  You can bring the image up on your computer and rotate the model 360 degrees.  Doesn't he look aerodynamic?  They smooth their surface out so much they don't even have butt holes.  Funny thing is that most live models are good at chosing poses that aren't quite so .... showy and don't require airbrushing.  Which is good, cause there are some things I don't want to draw.

I do however, love to draw/paint nipples.  Without them the chest would be so boring.

I remember seeing a version that was kids and was shocked until I saw that they were fully dressed.  They also have a 4th version and one with two models together.

Many of the  poses aren't the most interesting, but are good for practise when you haven't got naked people begging to be drawn hanging about.

Okay ladies....Kurt picking his nose or the aerodynamic looking No. 55?

Quick Sketch of Kurt

Just remember Kurt.....you asked for it in your comment.
Hot Chocolate suggested when I'm at the coffee shops drawing the customers I should draw them nude so if they come over....  Well, I like that suggestion.  I think I'll do that starting next week.

BTW peoples....no, I don't know what he looks like without clothes on before you ask.  Really, with clothes on either for that matter;-)

It All Started With Christine.....

Dear Megan,

Thanks for asking after me.  I have been gone a while.  We bought a new vehicle.  Her name is Christine.  Yes, I did say Christine.  That's when the problems started.

Christine, although she doesn't appear to be malevolent, does like to get her own way.  We found out early on that when we're driving around she tends to keep readjusting the volume and base on the stereo just to let us know she's there.  She likes her rock hard and loud.  She likes the windows to vibrate with the base turned up and no matter how many times we readjust the blasted thing she returns the settings to her liking when she thinks we're not looking.

Oddly enough the same week we brought her home my cell phone and computer gave up the ghost.  I'd be lying if I said I missed them, but alas, replaced them just the same.

Mr. P, being in the business, spent the weekend recovering data from the old hard drive and transferring it to the new.  He just managed to get it set up and was putting it back together when the new drive crashed.  Back to square one.

I'm finally up and running again, for now anyways.  I try to remember to take Christine out for a drive twice a day, give her a healthy dose of hard rock at her desired volume and base, and give her a pat when I walk by and keep her new and shiny looking.  This seems to be placating her for the time being and the computer and cell phone seem to be working for now.

Seems the smarter technology seems to get the more trouble it causes us.  (shhh....don't tell her I said that.)

Thanks again for checking up on me.

Perp.
