Warning....this may be disturbing to some viewers;-)
I walked into the kitchen this morning to 5 individuals breakfasting. This one is eating a chocolate chip from one of the muffins. Apparently she's a chocoholic too. In case you are wondering....we don't encourage rats at the dining table. This one was slipped in, in hopes of going unnoticed.

I once attended a teacher workshop on classroom pets and was told that the rat was by far the best (safest, cleanest) classroom pet. In fact, they didn't recommend anything else.
She is so cute. There is something vastly different about a pet rat vs. a home invasion rat...
In Canada many of our schools are too politically correct to allow pets. You can't be even near school grounds with anything resembling a live creature other than human or you'll get told. Pets are the new peanut of this generation of the school setting. Next they won't allow plants. I'm sure there are schools that do allow them at the discretion of the staff, but just not ours.
I was once on a flight where they asked us not to eat peanut products because someone on the flight was allergic.
Sweet. In every sense.
1st picture was disturbing. 2nd was fine.
just thought i tell you...
We have a pet rat and I love him to bits. He waits for me in the evenings to give him a treat. I just love to see him. Such a kind pet! We call him Ratty mainly. His name is really Rocket Curly Wurly Tim. Named by the youngest in the house.
After keeping a rat who is just like a mini dog, I wouldn't have any other small animal.
You got a friend for his/her life!
Your photos were so cute, thank you for sharing!
Hugs!

Cute rat although I must admit they aren't my cup of tea. That said, I think I could be persuaded...lol I remember when my kids were in primary school, one of the parents would be up at the school at 'drop off' and 'pick up' times with at least two pet rats crawling over him. He used to get called 'the ratman' and always had kids swarming around him.
One of my childhood friends had two, named Bert and Ernie. We would let them out at every opportunity.
I approve the chocolate chip diet.
I have twin uncles named Ernie and Bert. Seriously!
awww cute rattie :D
hahahah Ernie and Bert, I had twin Uncles, Ed and Bill and that wasn't all that funny...they were though.
