Well crap! Wiarton Willie saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter. Humph!
Both Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam and Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania also saw their shadows
We're just waiting for their Alberta relative to see his to make it a unanimous decision.
Believe it or not, I came across a webcam that shows Willie's abode. He wasn't currently home. I would imagine he'll have a very busy day as he is the start of a few days long festival. Poor little vermin.

No one has heard of Wiarton Willie or Shubenacadie Sam in the real world.
Have to say I don't know who the Alberta cousin is... I have heard of Willie and Phil....
but, who cares what they say... we know full well we have 6 more weeks at the very least.... more like 3 months.... I usually can't take the motorcycle out til May... and even then...the streets are so full of gravel it's too dangerous... like riding on marbles...plus there are still frosty sections in the shaded areas.... best to wait til June.... oh, and
... a friend got married in August one year...to be safe she thought. Her backyard and the lovely white gazebos set up the night before were covered in a beautiful mantle of snow in the morning.... on to PLAN B......
Well here in Alberta Balzac Billy didn't see his shadow, so I guess Spring is just around the corner for us.
Hey! Don't mock the
groundhog(s)!!!
aha... Balzac Billy is it.... thanks to Grandma C....cuz I didn't know.....
